An oasis for Valerie Michele Oliver (nicknamed "Little Parrot" at quite a young age for amazing communication ability). She's evolved from Little Parrot to Creator's Parrot. "This is my main blog where I post whatever I'm inspired to share with you honoring my wholeness--both the personal and professional aspects."

This is the first of three test shows on Creator's Parrot Channel on Blog Talk Radio. Thanks to the callers and listeners who participated in helping me become comfortable with hosting, using the switchboard and chat room, playing music and other files for the shows, and offering support.
This is a list of my most popular content in a Top Ten (10) countdown for August 2009.
The number one article, a product review for an oral pain reliever & gum healer, has made the top spot for the first time! It has received more recommendations from readers than any of the other 33 articles I've published. Newcomer, "You're As Sick As Your Secrets" Movie Review, has made the Top Ten in less than two (2) weeks!
10. Wreck in a Racist County
Racism causes medical and emotional trauma for automobile accident victim in Georgia.
9. Song Lyrics -- I See My Little Girl
"I see my little girl (It's shame that clouds you). I see my little girl (It's guilt that haunts you)."
4. You're As Sick As Your Secrets: Movie Review (New!)
According to the documentary, whether we're aware of it or not, we have secrets hidden in shadows . . .
"You're as Sick as Your Secrets," is written from my point-of-view that the association with shadows and secrets explored in the movie is based upon the producer's experience with 12-Step Recovery principles she has moved beyond the anonymous community into society-at-large. It's about time the general public gained access to some genuine gems from these programs.
The second review in process is my personal account of the movie and interactive workshop DVD. The working title is: "It's Shadow Time: My Personal Journey with The Karmic Shadow."
“Life is making peace with our divinity and humanity,” states Debbie Ford, the producer and facilitator of the movie. According to the documentary, whether we’re aware of it or not, we have secrets hidden in “shadows”—attitudes, behaviors, memories, and beliefs —aspects of our being we often deny and need to integrate into our wholeness as human creatures. The film offers a pathway to awareness about how to heal our lives using our shadow as an ally.
The movie illuminates the purpose and affects shadows have on individuals, communities, and societies based upon the opinions and experiences. . .

This time the song includes a horns to give it steamy, sensual heat that somehow is so cool at the same time.
Can't you hear this as the love theme during the "first-time-they-make-love" in a film after beginning a tentative, edgy, cat-and-mouse relationship? Or perhaps the theme for the romantic novel on which the film is based on a Web site? Actually, I'm thinking of this song playing during one of the sexy scenes in the TV series, "Californication," starring David Duchovny. It's got that kind of texture.
It's the wee hours. Grab your sweetie (someone else or yourself) and feel the love!
I posted my original a cappella version on the site, hoping re-mix artists would run with it, and Briareus has done so.
As you may already know, the Smooth Jazz Instrumental version on my ReverbNation profile page is dedicated to generating creative energy for solutions to child abuse/neglect. "All My Life" made it to the Top 25 Jazz songs in NY/NJ/CT/PA due to you all playing the tune for a couple of weeks. It has slipped down to Number 39 this week, but is still in the Top 50. Play the Jazz Instrumental version & keep it high on the charts.
Early this week, Eleanora, Tash & I focused on the 3rd draft of STANDING NAKED IN ROSE PETALS, and that transitioned into Tash becoming the first editor. We gave the book our full attention for six non-stop hours.
First, we called in some of the book's guides for direction: Sun Bear, the Mother, and others.
One of the keys that was given to me is: "Pay attention to the three feathers." The three feathers are three people who are the significant guides, facilitators and supporters for getting STANDING NAKED IN ROSE PETALS published.
At the time, I believe I had made contact with two of the key individuals. Then, yesterday, I believe I connected with the third.
El, Tash and I began our 3rd draft session with passing a sacred talking stick to each other to draw out what we needed to say about the book and our relationship to it.
We read, wrote, queried, laughed, contemplated, suggested, added, removed, discussed; munched on cherries, grapes, black bean tortilla chips, and drank tea.
It was very enchanting and productive. So what else is new?
The blog created to post inspired, insightful, ideas now has one focus: share ideas, success stories, events, news, and other resources to generate healing power and energy to child abuse and neglect solutions.
Also . . . Congratulations to Neil Alexander and NAIL for their song holding steady at #2 for NY/NJ/CT/PA: "Starlight Casts No Shadow" -- http://www.reverbnation.com/nailmusic

-- Words people have used to describe events
"You are a very warm and authentic person--it is so refreshing. I feel inspired by your optimism, enthusiasm, and how driven you are to actualize dreams. And for Petes' sake, "come out" already in the healing artist component of your identity--if not for you, then for those who you will help heal/guide/impact!"
-- Dr. Heather Gillman, Psychologist
"Val, you just made me cry as I was lamenting to my girl that I have been searching for just one person to 'get' me (besides my blood twin, my girl). Gracious thanks, from my heart of hearts." -- Patricia Malia
"You are a gifted soul who possesses an incredible zest and talent for living. Even the simplest of events--waiting on line to pay a cable bill, a passing conversation on the street--become joyful happenings with you! Your beautiful smile and focused gaze make me know that you're really hearing me, listening to me, appreciating me. I feel compelled to just be myself, honestly, with you." -- Jonathan Dobin, Composer & Visual Artist
"Thanks Val. Your particular INSIGHT, as always, is ON POINT."
-- Christopher Dean Sullivan, Musician
"You always say exactly what I need to hear!" -- Christie
This certainly is a year of change on many levels. Some are still struggling against it, while others are seeing it as a time for transformation, transmutation, and transcending old limitations. The healing arts and spirituality have taken a major role in my life in 2009 with a definite strong relationship between spirituality and creativity. I'm a student in a healing arts school and am grateful to have connections to many gifted individuals (locally, nationally, and internationally).
Healing artists have ideas about what we think people may need to move forward creatively and spiritually, but we'd like you to think about it yourself. What else do you need to enhance your creative life palette?
