It's 4.5 hours until 2012 and I am completely enchanted by the tracks that are a part of The Bria Project's - Splash of Soul cloudcast on MixCloud by Brigetta Dunson. I just met Brigetta after reading someones post about her on Facebook. After she accepted my friend request, I quickly clicked the link to this sweet and hot mix of what Brigetta calls "an eclectic mix blending soul, lounge and deep house." My favorite track is "The Galaxy" by DJ Kawasaki. That's not much of a surprise for those of you who know how much I love Brazilian music. I'm in heaven easing to 2012 with one of my loves: music. I met Rodney "Biblical Jones" Hamlett in New York City at a music networking event sponsored by Music Dish and Women in Music in 2010. It was my first time mingling with music professionals in a while, so I just started walking around hoping to connect. Not sure who said hello first, but Rodney was so warm, friendly and encouraging.

This sample track of "A New Life" is the first song I've heard that features him as the vocalist, and I love this song! The last song that I called an anthem on Creator's Parrot Channel radio was "A Brand New Day" written by one of Billboard Magazine's Top 10 Dance/Club Artists of the Decade, Georgie Porgie. Georgie was the featured guest on the show and we had a blast! I picked A Brand New Day as one of my picks for Top Inspirational Songs of 2010. I'd love to feature Rodney on CPC in January 2012. I hope we can make it happen.

Some of my personal favorites are on the list (Although sadly, many are missing). I've put an asterick next to the ones I hear myself singing from time-to-time. Creator's Parrot Blog is resurrecting! Yeah! It's morphing into "Creator's Parrot Channel" -- the companion blog for the Internet radio channel of the same name on which some of you have been guests, guest co-hosts, followers, and listeners. It will be primarily focused on film, music, TV and Web TV events with the energy that comes with being a healing artist. I don't know if "The First and Last Song" and "The Healing Artist Studio" will be coming back in the same form, new forms, or not at all. The revised blog (it includes this new design which I hope you like), the YouTube channel, and the Facebook page will all be companion sites for the radio channel.

Do check out my LinkedIn Profile for sneak peeks at some of the projects happening now and to come in 2012 and beyond. If anyone would have told me last year at this time what would be happening now, I couldn't have embraced it at all. I had an image of myself in an office with a steady client base in a practice as a healing artist. I tried to arrange my life to become that image. I got the office space in an existing business that has a steady clientele but last week, I called in quits there and moved my office to my home. I had a "inside-the-box" view of what I thought it meant to be a healer. My assumptions and beliefs have been burst open: it has expanded, and is still expanding (More . . .)

NEW FORMAT INCORPORATES MUSIC SOUNDTRACK INTO BLOG POSTS USING LINKS.

BlogTracks is the name of a new format I'm using to integrate my love of blogging, creative nonfiction memoir writing, film and music. It's also being used to prepare for my multimedia book and film project: Last Words. I hope you enjoy this premiere entry and would love to read your comments.

Little Red Riding Hood, You Sure Are Looking Good . . .
People keep telling me that there's a holding pattern energy around for me (and for so many of others who are just practically going crazy with the need for our paths to be CLEAR and FREE). Notice that I said path(s) (multiple streams). Then again, the way the energy is flowing for Creator's Parrot, it could turn out to be another of what Lauren Gorgo calls a "sike!" in her latest Conscious Co-Creation Coaching post entitled,"Reassessing, Redirecting and Resetting." It's the Trickster!

Put The Lime In The Coconut And Then You'll Feel Better
I spoke to Eleanora Amendolara recently, and got the guidance that there's still yet another FEAR imprint that's interfering with me emerging as fully authentic to do-what-I-was-brought-back-from-death-to-do. I'm sooooo closing in on the amazing life of my technicolor dreams (while I'm in helping others, getting help, and receiving more knowledge about the best ways to serve in the future). I can't gaily move forward without responding to the Creator's guidance on the actions to take for a complete transformation (or close to it) of old issues to be resolved or dissolved before moving forward into my new life so they won't sabotage this time around. More to CHILL leading to the essence of FREEDOM.

I want to call family and friends and new contacts today. But first, I know I need to focus on transforming or correcting those fears and other things that are sticking their tongue out at me saying, "Nah-nah-naaaah-nah!" My reply? "Hey, hey, hey -- Goodbye."

Twinkle, Twinkle, Everybody Is A Star
Is there anyone who doesn't want to be accepted for the star who they truly are; the healer, the peacemaker, the the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, the little girl who lives down the lane? I AM that I AM. And so sang Gloria Gaynor in a super hot, disco theme about gay (and other) self acceptance (or some lyric close to it). And I am so chopping at the bits to act, do, move, accomplish, and succeed. I write proposals, make phone calls, consult with Sue Birkam (my business manager), consult with my mentor, consult with friends, and trust the supportive energy of discernment concerning people, places, ways, and things that are or aren't for me anymore and vice versa. God bless us everyone, no regrets, and thanks for the memories.

In the meantime . . . I will continue to post on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, here and my other blogs when I can and have the interest, flying in the face of all the social media experts do's and dont's to be successful at online communication. May be right, may be wrong, or may be until a new way comes along. But then again, these could be my last words said the turtle to the bird: "I believe I can fly."

Maybe this is why when I see so many of you speeding around, driving so fast in cars passing me on the highways impatient that I'm enjoying the scenery, I try not to judge any of it. I get that the earth has picked up speed, but wonder what's YOUR hurry. Are you late for a very important date, or just on fast forward? I don't mean to upset or disrespect how you decide to move, but I've been in that tunnel in the Light and have to take life all in like it may be the first and last I remember. It's safer and more fun to drive and watch what happens.

Independent record label/sound production company Generation Me-X Entertainment (LLC) (GenMe-X) has selected "All My Life (Nu-Jazz, Briarus Remix)" as one of the tracks on their new "Serve When Chilled: Sunset Soaked Grooves" compilation. It features lounge, deep house, lo-fi, nu jazz, ambient, and bossa music written by independent artists around the world.

"All My Life" is a song written by yours truly (Valerie Michele Oliver) that was produced and re-mixed by music artist Briarus on the ccMixter service. I posted the original song on ccMixter after learning about the service through Creative Commons, the nonprofit organization that licenses the work of artists so that people can collaborate on, re-use and share creations. Briarus remixed the song in ambient and nu-jazz genres.

The collaboration approach is perfect for the Reach 4 Freedom: Heal Child Abuse Music Project (to which the song is dedicated) because the Project is all about energy gained from playing and downloading the song serving as conduits or channels to heal abuse on our planet. Intent and action is everything.

According to Sean "Undaground Tha Illest" Carter (aka Unda) the CEO of Generation Me-X Entertainment (GenMe-X) and the album producer, "We wanted to put this together out of pure enjoyment of the genres, and would like to take listeners on a sun soaked sonic journey. This is all about the music, and one of Generation Me-X Entertainment's goals is to represent the unheard, the unseen, the unknown artists and bring them to light." A link to the Reach 4 Freedom: Heal Child Abuse Music Project is included in the information about the song to help publicize it.

The principals of GenMe-X are musicians themselves. They have rocked shows in the U.S., Canada, Thailand, Iraq and Dubai, and have received radio play in many international stations. Most recently a station in Montreal, Canada put Unda's album "Soon Is So Far Away" in rotation.

Independent record label/sound production company Generation Me-X Entertainment (LLC) (GenMe-X) has selected "All My Life (Nu-Jazz, Briarus Remix)" as one of the tracks on their soon to be released new compilation album currently in production. The compilation titled, "Serve When Chilled," will feature lounge, deep house, lo-fi, nu-jazz, ambient, and bossa music written by independent artists.

"All My Life" is a song written by yours truly (Valerie Michele Oliver) that was produced and re-mixed by music artist Briarus on the ccMixter service. I posted the original song on ccMixter after learning about the service through Creative Commons, the nonprofit organization that licenses the work of artists so that people can collaborate on, re-use and share creations. Briarus remixed the song in ambient and nu-jazz genres.

The collaboration approach is perfect for the Reach 4 Freedom: Heal Child Abuse Music Project because it's all about energy gained from every activity connected to my music serving as conduits or channels to heal abuse on our planet. Intent and action is everything. READ MORE!

Creator's Parrot Radio Channel Close To 13,000 Visitors First Season

On January 17, 2010, the first episode of "Sunday Brunch: the First and Last Song" aired on Creator's Parrot channel on Blog Talk Radio. On June 27, 2010, the program had its season finale featuring Mexican-Chinese pianist Joel Juan Qui (classical/contemporary classical/soundtrack), Canadian pianist, trumpeter, composer Rudy Van Horne (Classical/Classical Contemporary/Easy Listening/New Standards), and guest co-host Barry Plaxen (Publisher, Delaware & Hudson Canvas newspaper in New York).

Plans are to review the format and receive guidance about what's next while the series is on hiatus for the summer, and to explore advertiser, marketing and producer support to expand publicity for the program if it is to grow forward in the fall season.

Creator's Parrot radio channel was created as a conduit to generate energy for solutions to child abuse on the earth in a healing and the arts form. This is the intention. All activity connected with Creator's Parrot is dedicated to this purpose.

Although I had no advertising or marketing budget or staff, in six months since the program debut the site has had close to 13,000 visitors and programs were played and listened to close to 3,000 times (live and podcast) versions. I like to think of it as 16,000 blasts of energy for solutions to child abuse! If you add in all the program minutes (1100+) and friends (114) that brings it to over 17,000 energy intent charges. That's not including all the hours I put in producing and other activities.

Zain Efendi, a talented composer who was awarded Best New Composer by Hollywood Music in Media in 2009, is a guest on "Sunday Brunch: The First and Last Song." He will debut some of the music recorded with Haitian church choirs, children's choirs and tribal voices for a special music project for a documentary film to which he was assigned in 2006. The project remained dormant until the devastating earthquake this year that most likely ended the loves of some of the people Zain recorded. GUEST ELLI FORDYCE: Actress, educator, and a jazz vocalist whose album “Songs Spun of Gold” attracted Grammy Award pre-nominations for 2009 in six different categories. Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, June Christy, Carmen McCrae and Frank Sinatra were major influences. "In the early '50s, when I first heard Ella on WNEW, my eyes and ears popped wide open," Elli has said. "She would go around and away from the melody, yet was never lost. That was the game: how far out could you go and still come back, yet making it all understandable? That was the creative challenge that got to me."

When a year-long tour by jazzy pop quartet “Elli Fordyce And Her Favorite Things” ended in tragedy, she decided to focus on needed physical and spiritual healing. Co-host Neil Alexander is composing the theme music for "Sunday Brunch: The First and Last Song."

If you haven't already checked out his Web site to read his biography, take this opportunity to do so. Also, if you missed my interview podcast with Neil a couple of years ago, give it a listen. For the first time ever conducting interviews, I had to split it into two sessions because his music life as an independent artist is that rich.

I'm happy to say I did make a contribution to the theme: I created a track with Tibetan Singing Bowls to be included in his creation. I haven't heard the theme yet, and will just have to wait to be delighted.

"You're as Sick as Your Secrets," is written from my point-of-view that the association with shadows and secrets explored in the movie is based upon the producer's experience with 12-Step Recovery principles she has moved beyond the anonymous community into society-at-large. This time the song includes horns to give it steamy, sensual heat that somehow is so cool at the same time. Can't you hear this as the love theme during the "first-time-they-make-love" in a film after beginning a tentative, edgy, cat-and-mouse relationship? Or perhaps the theme for the romantic novel on which the film is based on a Web site? Actually, I'm thinking of this song playing during one of the sexy scenes in the TV series, "Californication," starring David Duchovny. It's got that kind of texture.

Major props to talented music arranger/remix artist, Clay Corrello (Briareus), who created an AWESOME Ambient Nu-Jazz version of "All My Life" and posted it on the ccMixter Web site!

I posted my original a cappella version on the site, hoping re-mix artists would run with it, and Briareus has done so.

As you may already know, the Smooth Jazz Instrumental version on my ReverbNation profile page is dedicated to generating creative energy for solutions to child abuse/neglect. "All My Life" made it to the Top 25 Jazz songs in NY/NJ/CT/PA due to you all playing the tune for a couple of weeks. It has slipped down to Number 39 this week, but is still in the Top 50.

This is a list of my most popular content (text and audio podcasts) in a top ten (10) countdown for January 2009.

Articles making the list for the first time are identified this way: (New!).

The number one article out-performed all the others even though it was a new publication during the month. People are hungry for change from the inside out, so spirituality was the number one topic. Perhaps, people were still feeling the glow of what the holiday season and new year inspires. I know I did, and still am.

I thought people might like to know what was most popular of all the content I published in 2008. So far, I've published content in four areas: text, audio, video, and slide show. I took a survey of my work, performed a quick assessment of the top ten content viewed (including what categories they cover), and now feel I will probably commit to writing more content in these areas for 2009.
